A route with room to enjoy it
Three full days with a medina introduction, a palace-focused day and a garden visit. This is a city break: keep a desert or Atlas Mountains excursion for a longer stay, or replace a city day deliberately.
Find your bearings in the medina
Begin with a manageable walk from your accommodation towards Jemaa el-Fnaa and the surrounding souks. Ask your host to explain the route back and save the property’s location before leaving. Browse without trying to see every alley on the first morning.
Take a long lunch or return to your accommodation during the hottest part of the day. Later, walk around the Koutoubia area and return towards the square if its evening atmosphere interests you. Choose what to buy or pay for deliberately, agreeing the price of a service before accepting it.
If you have more energy: Book a guided medina introduction through a provider you have checked, especially if you would enjoy context more than independent browsing.
Bahia Palace and the southern medina
Build the morning around Bahia Palace, checking current access, hours and tickets before setting out. Leave time to look rather than rushing straight to another admission queue. Keep lunch in the same part of the city so that the day does not become a chain of taxi journeys.
Choose one additional visit, such as the Saadian Tombs, if it suits your interests and opening arrangements. Otherwise, spend the afternoon browsing nearby streets and take a proper break. An unhurried dinner is a better end to this day than an ambitious excursion beyond the city.
If you have more energy: Choose a hammam experience after checking the treatment, privacy arrangements and price. Make it a replacement for another activity, not an extra deadline.
Majorelle and time for yourself
If Jardin Majorelle is a priority, reserve an available time slot through the venue’s official booking route. The city’s visitor guide recommends booking ahead. Do not assume the garden and neighbouring museums share the same admission: check the ticket inclusions you actually want.
Plan transport there and back as a separate outing from the medina. Spend the remaining time on a relaxed lunch, shopping you postponed or a quiet afternoon at your accommodation. If this is your flight day, move the garden to an earlier day and keep the final hours for luggage and your airport transfer.
If you have more energy: Visit an associated museum only if your confirmed ticket and schedule allow it; keep a fallback if your preferred slot is unavailable.
Plan the practical details
Choose your base carefully
A medina riad can put you close to walking routes, but check where a vehicle can drop you and how you reach the door with luggage. For a simpler arrival, compare accommodation with straightforward road access. Ask about stairs, room access and the exact meeting point before booking.
Build a realistic budget
Separate accommodation and meals from paid monuments, garden tickets, guides, treatments and transfers. Confirm taxi arrangements and prices before travel. Leave room for a break in a café rather than treating every hour as an attraction to buy. These are planning categories, not live price quotes.
Keep the three days workable
Move outdoor walking around heat and your energy. Recheck opening days, tickets and access locally. A distant excursion uses a substantial part of a short break; choose it instead of a city day rather than promising both. The route is an editorial suggestion and contains no confirmed reservations.
